Back in Tanzania!

I'm back in Tanzania and back in action! There are lots of updates to share!

*A HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who took the time to vote for Project U! We had incredible support and finished in 4th place, just one spot away from the Top 3 finalists! Although we didn't make it into the finals this year, we truly appreciate everyone's support and will see what next year brings!

*THANK YOU to Ecole Leila North! They had a bake sale in February that raised over 300$ and on April 11th, they will be selling hand made pottery! Check back soon for pictures from the event!!!

A HUGE thank you to Parker and Brooke who initiated an awesome CANDY CANE Fundraiser at Athlone School!!! Thanks so much for all your hard work!!!

The Westwood Collegiate Winter Festival was another wonderful event and has definitely become an annual event for the community!! Thank you to all the students who volunteered their time!

As I am gearing up to head back to Tanzania, I am hoping to collect some sports equipment for the kids in Mwanza!!  

We will glad accept used sports of equipment of any size!!

There are so many people to thank for the INCREDIBLE SUCCESS of the YOU ROCK Comedy & Soul Jam!!  I'll name a few but I know I cannot fit them all!!

• Thank you to AISHA ALFA not only for coming up with the idea for the concert but for all her hard work on the YOU ROCK Campaign, on the concert and ON STAGE both as comedian and MC!!! YOU ROCK!!!

• Thank you to ALL the volunteers that made the night possible!!! Your endless work behind the scenes is what makes the concert run so smooth!! 
• Thank you to everyone who supported the show! Those who came out! Those who told their friends about it! You all made this event incredible!!

Together, we were able to raise over $4500 for Hero Home!!! Your support will go a long way in helping our dreams come true! So, again, THANK YOU!!

AND.. for any of you with little  ones, GO!'s next event is a Children's Carnival at Westwood Collegiate on Sun, Dec. 16th from 1-4pm.

Westwood students have been organizing these carnivals for 3 years and do an incredible job of providing entertainment for the little ones! Pictures with Santa, cookie decorating, crafts, movies, games, & so much more! All proceeds support Hero Home! So, if you felt guilty for leaving the kids at home during the concert, now is your chance to give them their own incredible afternoon of entertainment! :)
